YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WORK IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS.

product image

Often people think that they are not allowed to work at all while applying for Social Security Disability benefits. This is certainly not the case. You may be able to file for disability benefits if you are still working, but only if your monthly gross earned income is below the annual substantial gainful activity (SGA) level for that year.  In 2010, the SGA level is considered at $1,000.00 of gross earnings.  This literally means that you can earn up a maximum of $1,000.00 a month and still be eligible for Social Security Disability.

If you have stopped working, you should not hesitate to file for disability.

CERTAIN DISEASES CAN GUARANTEE AN APPROVAL OF BENEFITS.

If this was the case, people with these disabilities would not have to worry about dealing with a long bureaucratic process. Sadly, this is one big misconception Regardless of your health condition and its severity, the information provided by your healthcare provider is what the SSA uses to approve you for Social Security Disability benefits. This information must be complete and thorough in order for you to get the benefits you depend on.  Contact our office for more information or questions that you have about your disability eligibility.

IF YOU ARE YOUNG YOU CANNOT WIN A DISABILITY CASE.

product image

Many people in their twenties and thirties wrongly believe that it is impossible to win a SSD or SSI claim. This is certainly not true. If you have a work history, and if you have a disability that will prevent you from working for a year or more, you may be eligible for benefits — regardless of your age.
